Paktim has played a notable role in Nigeria’s power sector reforms, particularly in the area of electricity metering. In 2018, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) introduced the Meter Asset Provider (MAP) scheme to accelerate metering rollout and reduce reliance on estimated billing across the electricity distribution network.
Paktim Metering was among the first 22 companies nationwide to receive NERC’s “No Objection” approval to participate as a meter provider under the MAP framework. This early approval reflected the company’s technical capability, operational readiness, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
As the regulatory framework evolved, NERC transitioned to a more structured Metering Service Provider (MSP) model, introducing enhanced certification and compliance standards aimed at strengthening accountability within the metering ecosystem.
In 2021, Paktim was formally listed among NERC’s certified MSPs, with certification validity extending into mid-2022, as documented in official regulatory publications.
These milestones underscore Paktim Metering’s sustained compliance with industry regulations and its commitment to supporting transparency, accurate billing, and customer confidence within Nigeria’s electricity market.
